Hangboard Buzzer: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Summary

Hangboard Buzzer does not collect any data. The developer receives nothing from the app, and nothing is shared with third parties. The optional features below use Apple services on your device, and this page explains each one.

Data collection

The app collects no personal data and no usage data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The app does not contact any server run by the developer or by anyone other than Apple.

Data stored on your device

Your training programs and settings are saved on your device using the system preferences store (UserDefaults) so the app remembers them between launches. This information stays on your device. You can share programs with friends, but apart from that nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else. Deleting the app removes it.

Apple Health (optional)

If you allow it, the app saves each finished session to Apple Health as a Climbing workout with an estimate of the energy it burned. To make that estimate it can read the weight you have stored in Health, and if you enter or correct your weight in the app it saves it back to Health. This data stays in Health on your device. The app does not send it anywhere and does not use it for advertising. You can change or revoke this access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Hangboard Buzzer.

Game Center (optional)

If you turn on the friends leaderboard, the app submits your score to Apple's Game Center. Your Game Center name and score are visible to your Game Center friends, as set by your Game Center privacy settings. Game Center is provided and operated by Apple; the developer does not receive or store this data. The app works fully without it.

Tips (optional)

The app has an optional tip jar. Tips are one-time in-app purchases processed entirely by Apple, and nothing is unlocked by tipping. The developer does not receive your payment details or your identity. Apple may email you a receipt. The app keeps the date of your last tip on your device, and reads your purchase history from Apple to show your past tips in Settings.

Required-reason API declarations

Apple requires apps to declare a reason for using certain system APIs. Hangboard Buzzer declares two: the preferences store (UserDefaults), used only for the app's own settings, and system boot time, used only to time the workout timer accurately. These declarations describe how the app works on your device; they are not data collection.

Children

The app collects no data, so it collects nothing from children either. Game Center and in-app purchases are subject to Apple's own age settings and parental controls.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
